The Justice Question from "The Fisherman and the Jinnee"

  • Dana Fine: I think that the way the fisherman treated the Jinnee was fair. After all, the Jinnee was going to kill him. But I also think that the way the Jinnee aproached the whole imprisionment matter a little too harshly. Sure, anyone would be bitter if they were imprisioned for centuries, but I think that the even a mutinying rebel like the Jinnee would be greatfull to the one who set him free. In a nutshell, the philosophy of this frametale is "what goes around, comes around," or in the story, "An eye for an eye" also known as Karma.

  • I'm very interested to hear your thoughts!! : -)
  • Do you agree with the way the fisherman treated the jinnee? What philosophy does he go with, "Do unto others" or "An eye for an eye"? What would you have done in his situation? Do you think the jinnee deserved his fate? Explain.

Yuck…….

Ok, so my snail died over a week and a half ago, but my mom didn’t throw it out. She put it in a ziplock bag and then put it ontop of the tank because the “Shell is pretty”. I got here from my dads and she told me to deal with it. I went to the bathroom to dipose of the carcass and clean the shell out so she could have it. THe whole entile fricking house smells worse than diarea+ocean brine as do my hands. I’m eating icecream and I told my mom that the smell is killing my icecream buz. “Well, then I guess it was meant to be. You shouldn’t be eating ice cream.” Thanks mom…

The pony in this picture represents the flower of eternal life, and The Batman represents the snake who snatched up the flower.
